Erika Biesemeier is an Art Therapist at the Mann Center in Westchester, New York, and a painter living and working in Brooklyn. Erika makes oil and watercolor paintings and drawings that are not quite abstractions. She uses gestural, fluid color to describe and understand her inner experiences, past interactions, and the transference of energy that can occur between people. Erika is originally from Northeastern, Ohio, and holds a BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design, and an MA in Art Therapy from New York University. She currently works with adolescent girls with histories of trauma and profound loss, creating resilience and strength through creative arts therapy.
